KUCHER Volodymyr Ivanovych (04.05.1939) |
Graduated from Kyiv State University named after T.G. Shevchenko majored in history (1963).
In 1974, he defended his candidate's thesis at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR on the topic: "Partisan regions and zones in Ukraine during the Great Patriotic War 1941-1944", and in 1986 at the same Institute – doctoral dissertation on the topic: "Combat activity of the anti-fascist underground in Ukraine 1941–1944".
Worked as a research intern, junior, senior, leading researcher, head of the problem group on the history of the Great Patriotic War of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1968–1991), leading, chief researcher of the Institute of National Studies and Political Science of the NAS of Ukraine (since 1998 – Institute of Political and Ethnonational Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) (1992-2004).
From January 2004 to the present – chief researcher of the scientific sector of the Institute of the History of Agrarian Science, Education and Technology of the NNSGB of the National Academy of Sciences.
Member of the specialized academic council D 26.373.01 at the National National Academy of Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences for the defense of dissertations for obtaining the scientific degree of doctor and candidate of historical sciences in the specialty 07.00.07 – history of science and technology (historical sciences).
The author of more than 200 scientific publications, including more than 20 individual and collective monographs on the history of the national liberation struggle of the Ukrainian people, social and political history, the history of Ukraine in the interwar and war period, biographical studies. Prepared 3 candidates of sciences.
Member of the editorial board of the "Ukrainian Historical Journal" and "Historical Journal".
