Funds and catalogs
The funds of the NNSGB of the National Academy of Sciences include more than 1 million 100 thousand publications on agricultural and forestry topics in 32 languages from 59 countries of the world and fully reflect the evolution of the state's agricultural sector. The collection of works of 377 scientific institutions, published since the beginning of the 19th century, is preserved. The funds provide the information needs of scientists and agribusiness specialists.

In the funds, 2 collections occupy an important place: "Fund of publications published in the 19th century on agricultural topics" (Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1038 dated September 3, 2009) and "Collection of scientific publications of 1901–1917 from the funds of the NNSGB of the National Academy of Sciences (Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1206 dated November 10, 2021 "On scientific objects constituting national property") are classified as national property. We are working on arranging another unique collection "Golden Beet".
The type-typological diversity of rare books of the fund is represented by fundamental monographs, reference encyclopedic editions, albums, bulletins of scientific institutions.
A significant place in the collection is occupied by memorial editions – works of outstanding agricultural scientists: V. Dokuchaeva, P. Kostycheva, M. Vavilov, A. Chayanov, M. Sibirtseva, M. Wagner, E. Brandt, etc.
Valuable informative part of funds – multi-year sets of domestic (1115 titles) and foreign (1351 titles) scientific journals. The collection of the newspaper fund is represented by sets of newspapers that were published at the beginning of the 19th century and up to the present day: “Yuzhnorusskaya selskohozhnyamnaya gazeta” (since 1896), “Zemledelcheskaya gazeta” (since 1856), “Russian Horticulture” (since 1899) and others. The library has complete sets of agricultural periodicals: “Forest journal” (since 1872), “Fruit growing” (since 1890), “Agriculture and forestry” (since 1865), "Soil Science" etc.
An important component of the fund is the collection of literature donated by agrarian scientists: A.M. Zhadanom, O..P. Kanevskyi, Z.G. Lavitska and others. Collection of scientific literature by A.M. Zhadana is represented by works on the topic of "Animal Husbandry", the book collection of O.P. Kanevsky is completely dedicated to the problems of growing sugar beet. An interesting collection of Z.G. Lavytska, which includes publications of the 19th century. on issues of mycology.
Structure of funds of the NNSGB NAAS

The structure of the main storage fund is determined by the specifics and features of its constituent parts and the need to ensure more efficient placement, storage and use of them:

The inventory arrangement system is used to arrange books in the NNSGB fund of the National Academy of Sciences. The allocation code of the book is the inventory number of the copy that the library received first. For periodicals – alphabetical-chronological system of arrangement.
CATALOGS

Alphabetical catalog of books
Displays the NNSGB fund of the National Academy of Sciences by the author's sign and the title of the work. Contains a description of books, brochures, continued editions from all agricultural fields of knowledge and related fields.
Alphabetical catalog of abstracts
Organized in 1974. Contains a description of the abstracts of dissertations on agricultural topics, which are in the funds of the NNSGB of the National Academy of Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences.
Alphabetical catalog of periodicals
Reflects the journal fund of the NNSGB of the National Academy of Sciences. Contains descriptions of agricultural magazines and magazines of other fields of knowledge.
Subject catalog (PC)
The main reference and bibliographic apparatus of deep retrospection, which reveals the funds of the NNSGB of the National Academy of Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is the Subject Catalog (PC), which multifacetedly reflects the fund, makes it possible to establish what literature is in the library from one or another field of knowledge, subject , some of the most urgent problems of agriculture.
PC consists of thematic headings covering all branches of agriculture and related fields of knowledge. The rubrics are placed in alphabetical order. The rubric contains all the material on the relevant topic (of both sectoral and interdisciplinary nature) and is divided, in turn, into three categories of sub-rubrics – general typical, the same for all sections of the catalog, thematic typical, due to the subject of a separate branch and specific, used within the boundaries of only one sub-section, due to the subject of this section. Cards for literature inside them are placed by the years of publication in reverse order of authors' surnames or the name of the publication, which gives an opportunity to get acquainted first of all with new literature.
Subject catalog of abstracts
The subject catalog of abstracts is an integral part of the reference and bibliographic apparatus, it reveals the fund of abstracts of the NNSGB NAAS by subject content. PC of abstracts contains a description of the abstracts of dissertations on agricultural topics.
PC of abstracts consists of thematic headings, which are placed in alphabetical order of subject headings. The section contains descriptions of abstracts on the relevant topic and is divided into sub-sections determined by the subject of this section. The cards inside the subheading are placed by the years of publication of abstracts in reverse chronological order, within each year – in alphabetical order of authors' surnames, which gives an opportunity to get acquainted first of all with new arrivals of abstracts.
Systematic catalog (SC)
SK is an integral part of the reference and bibliographic apparatus and reveals the content of public and humanitarian literature of the NNSGB NAAS fund by fields of knowledge. SC contains descriptions of books, brochures, albums, atlases. Organized by SC according to the tables of the Library and Bibliographic Classification (BBK).
Catalog of special purpose literature on the history of science and technology (С)
